푸성귀가 다듬어져 음식이 될때 ‘다듬는 손’이 있을 터. 버려질 수도 쓰임을 모를 수도 있으나 중히 여기는 마음과 사랑하는 마음에 부지런함과 수고로움을 갖추어 필요없는 부분을 떼어내고 쓸모있게 만들며 고르게 손질함으로써 하찮은 것을 가치있게 바꾼다. 가장 흔한 우리 주변의 푸성귀를 다듬다 못해 쓰다듬고 싶어 주제를 삼고 , 한편으로는 나의 수고로움도 어루만져 보고자 하였다.     이영주 작가노트
